No Exit Performer Spotlight: Samuel Rosen

Samuel has told stories at events around Austin such as Backyard Story Night, Hyde Park Storytelling, Austin Bat Cave, & Drinking with the Saints. But this is Samuel’s first performance at Testify. Samuel is the captain of the local improv troupe “The Yes Andersons” who are currently performing shows virtually. As a criminal trial lawyer, when Sam is not fighting for justice he enjoys swimming, yoga, and hiking.

Tonight, Samuel will tell his story of trying to leave a shady situation in a foreign country in his piece, Petcar.


No Exit Performer Spotlight: Michelle Mirsky

Michelle Mirsky is a writer and storyteller in Austin, TX where she works in public health and spends evenings telling stories – formerly to live people, now to the whole wide internet. She is the mother of two sons, one living and one ghost. Her essays have appeared on McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Rumpus, Best American Essays and are being developed for television. She is currently (forever) at work on a collection of essays/memoir which she hopes you will look forward to reading.

Michelle comes to Testify again tomorrow night with a story about being trapped by the worst day of her life in her piece, Deadkidistan.


No Exit Performer Spotlight: Samantha Rae Lopez

Samantha Rae Lopez is an Austin-based stand-up comedian and podcaster who has performed for Babesfest and various variety shows in Austin. She is on the cast of Critics on Tap, a weekly podcast from creatives/comedians discussing new films. While she can’t perform in public venues, she can be seen at various virtual shows across the internet. Samantha is currently spending the time that she would be at open mics on exploring satire and personal essay writing.

Samantha returns to the Testify “stage” with a tale of getting trapped in a should be paradise in her piece, Self-Care Saga.
