Demons Performer Spotlight: Symply Courtney

Symply Courtney is currently a member of the local improv troupe Sugar Water Purple and the Black and Tan podcast network. From Austin, Texas. Symply Courtney playfully threads family incidents with social commentary about everything from growing up with a unisex name to dealing with “interesting” passengers. Has performed all over Texas in everything from local coffee shops all the way to a local gun stores. Producing random melodies his on stage presence is a mixture of “the best Aunts and Uncles fights from my childhood”.

Demons Performer Spotlight: Jason Vines

Jason Vines is a self-taught special effects makeup artist, prop builder, foam fabricator, improviser and karaoke enthusiast. He has been making all sorts of creatures and props for stage and film professionally for the past 5 years or so. You can see his work at or on instagram @atxfx.

Demons Performer Spotlight: Janet Maykus

Janet Maykus is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She served as a hospital and hospital chaplain for twenty years. She started Hospice Austin’s bereavement program including Camp Braveheart. Today she serves as the Executive Director of EarthShare of Texas which is the environmental fund for Texas. She is the mother of three lovely men, and partner to a fellow who always makes her laugh.

Janet returns to the Testify stage to share her story of solving a demonic problem in her piece, The Old Cowboy.
